Your whole record counts, not just the case you want cleared. Each episode counts once. Under Utah Code § 77-40a-303, two or more felony convictions bar the certificate you need. So do five or more convictions of any kind. Three or more that include two class A misdemeanors bar it too. So do four or more that include three class B misdemeanors. Drug possession offenses have their own limits. Three or more such felonies bar you. So do five or more such convictions. Infractions, traffic offenses and minor regulatory offenses do not count. Ten years after your last conviction or release, the limits ease.
